Local Activities:
Our Friary in Waterford is situated in the centre of the bustling city, beside a busy shopping centre. The Church provides all the usual Church services, with frequent Masses, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and parlour ministry. Among the Church groups there is an active Secular Franciscan fraternity.
The friars are also the official chaplains in Ardkeen hospital, which is a huge hospital within the city area, and serving much of the South-East of the country. One of the friars manages a company which concentrates on providing sheltered housing, not only in Waterford but in other parts of the country, too. Other friars work with the Samaritans, with the Community Games organisation, etc.
The Friary in Waterford is part of a Franciscan fraternity that includes the friars in Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir. The friars in the three houses share responsibilities, and often come together for mutual support and upbuilding. The Guardian for the total community resides in Waterford, with seven other friars
