First Professions in Ennis

Friars Ronan and Damian with their now former Novice Director, Caoimhín O Laoide.

On a glorious Saturday morning as the sun drenched the town of Ennis, people gathered in the Franciscan Friary to witness the profession of Br. Damian Casey and Br. Ronan Sharpley as Franciscan Friars.

In the presence of their families, the Minister Provincial of the Franciscans Fr. Hugh McKenna OFM and the community of Ennis and friars from around Ireland, both Ronan and Damian made a commitment to live the Franciscan Rule of Life for one year. On the following day, in the London, Br. Richard Cutting OFM who also completed his Novititate in the Ennis Friary will make his profession.

We congratulate our three new Friars and pray God’s Blessing on the future. After a short break with their families all three Friars will begin one year of Franciscan studies at the Franciscan Study Centre in Canterbury.
