In 1984, at the invitation of Bishop Cathal Daly, Bishop of Down and Connor, the friars took possession of St. Joseph’s Church in Pilot Street and appointed a community in the adjacent parish house. There they provided religious services until 1996: from then until 2004 they ministered in a variety of services in Belfast city until the community finally left in 2004.
