Greetings from Galway!

Dear Friends,
The Lord give you peace!   In July the Irish Franciscans held a very successful and prayerful Provincial Chapter at the Franciscan College in Gormanston, Co Meath.   After that chapter many friars were appointed to new ministries and to new locations and these appointments took place between Aug 11th and Aug 18th.   I’ve been appointed to the Fraternity in Galway and though I was very sad leaving the Killarney Fraternity the Galway location is more central for my ministry as ‘Vocations Director’ of the Irish Franciscan Province.   My new address is:  ‘The Abbey,
8 St. Francis St, Galway’.    There is some building work going on at ‘The Abbey’ right now so at present  we are living in Salthill very near to the Parish Church.

On August 15th two men completed their postulancy in Chilworth, England and they will start their novitiate programme in Ennis, Co Clare in mid September.   Two more men will enter the postulancy programme in Chilworth England on September 1st, John is from Co Westmeath and Fergus is from Co Derry.   I ask you to remember these men in your prayers.

If you are interested in our way of life why not contact me at       brpatofm@hotmail.com.

Wishing you every blessing as you continue to discern your vocation in life.

God bless,
Fraternally,
Pat
