Dear Searchers and Seekers,
May the Lord give you peace! Today on the eve of Advent we celebrate the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle. This is a good day to reflect on your own ‘Call’, your own ‘Vocation’. God is calling you again today but this time ‘for what’???? Maybe you have answered a call before, maybe you are a fisherman, a builder, an engineer, a teacher, a cook, a teacher, a seaman, a civil servant. Is God saying to you today to “Come Follow Me but in a different way?” Is God calling you to do something more challenging? Take this Gospel of today, ponder it and listen to what God is saying to you: “As Jesus walked by the lake of Galilee,he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the lake for they were fishermen. He said to them, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”
At once they left their nets and followed him.
He went on from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John in a boad with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, Jesus called them.
At once they left the boat and their father and followed him.”Maybe you do need help in discerning what God is calling you to do. Is God calling you to be a Franciscan Friar? You will probably find it hard to tell unless you start engaging seriously with someone. If you do think you might have a calling to the ‘Franciscan Way of Life’ please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Wishing you many blessings during this holy season of Advent.
God is with you,
