Writing from Rome, the Minister of the friars in the Philippines thanks the Order and all our benefactors for their Wwonderful generosity after the devastating typhoon Haiyan.
As we end the MEETING OF THE MINISTER GENERAL AND HIS DEFINITORY WITH THE NEW PROVINCIAL MINISTERS AND CUSTODES here in the OFM General Curia today, I would like to express and in behalf of all the brothers in the Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in the Philippines my HEARTFELT THANKS AND MY DEEPEST GRATITUDE to all the DONORS from all over the world for the generosity and charity you have shown us for the DONATIONS you have deposited either to our account in the Custody or to the General Curia as assistance to our friars and novices in our damaged Novitiate House, and in our relief efforts for the hungry and the homeless within the vicinity of our Novitiate House in Ormoc City who suffer greatly as a consequence of the super typhoon Haiyan.
We are now rebuilding again what was destroyed. The Novitiate Community needs to rebuild the chapel, the kitchen, the bunkhouse and all other structures needed as the present physical situation is terribly difficult especially for a religious formation community.
At the same time, our Novitiate Community will also continue to assist in the relief operations for the victims through the relief goods purchased from your donations.
May I direct you to our CSSAPTube channel which I personally created for the update of the situation. CSSAPTube
We continue to offer daily Mass intentions for the repose of the souls of all those who died in this tragedy, for the comfort and strength of those who mourn, for the consolation of all the volunteers in the massive relief operations, and for the good health of all the donors all over the world. The Lord is your reward. I remain
FELIX A. JUNGCO JR., OFM
