Last evening I attended a meeting of the Munster Branch of ‘Vocations Ireland’ in one of the Presentation Sisters houses in Cork City.   Present were Ms Frances Dignan, President of Vocations Ireland, Sr. Jo, a Presentation Sister and Srs. Bridget, Norrie and Frances, all Bon Secour Sisters.   Unfortunately Sr. Una, a Sister of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and Fr. John MSC were unable to attend.   A lot of the proceedings last night were around the organization of the ‘Munster Branch of Vocations Ireland’ celebration on the Eve of ‘Vocations Sunday’ at Gougane Barra, Co Cork. (more about that later)
I’m always energized by the enthusiasm of Frances, John and those Sisters around ‘Vocations Promotion’.   It gives me great energy for my ministry of ‘Vocations Discernment’.   I often feel that if young men and women could experience the joy that ‘Religious Life’ has given us – indeed the opportunities for building up the Kingdom of God – they would flock to enter religious life.   Why not be bold and adventurous and contact  us so that you too could experience that joy and happiness and be part of that building project.
