The death has taken place of our brother, Columba Scanlon, OFM.

Fr Columba, a long-time a member of the Merchants’ Quay community, died peacefully on Saturday 29 September at the age of 87 years.

From Coosan, Athlone, he joined the Order in 1943 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1951.

He is survived by his brother Séan and many relatives.

Reposing at the Franicscan Friary, Merchants’ Quay, Dublin, on Monday 1 October  from 2.00pm, with removal to ‘Adam and Eve’s’ Church at 6.30pm.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Columba will be celebrated on Tuesday 2 October at 10.30am with burial afterwards in Glasnevin Cemetery.
