Our brother Fr. Jude O’Riordan OFM, a member of the Franciscan Fraternity, Merchants’ Quay, Dublin, went home to the Lord on Saturday January 4th, in the loving care of the staff of Nazareth House.

He is deeply regretted by his sister, Sr Victor O.P. his sister-in-law Ursula, his nephews and nieces, his Franciscan Fraternity, extended family and friends.

Reposing in the Franciscan Church, Merchants’ Quay on Wednesday 8th January from 2.00pm to 6.00pm. Prayers will take place at 6.00pm.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 9th January at 11.00am followed by burial in Glasnevin.

Born in Dublin in 1928, Patrick O’Riordan joined the Franciscan Order in 1950 and received the religious name Jude. After celebrating his First Profession in 1951 he studied for the priesthood in Galway University and Rome, and was ordained in 1958.

Fr Jude’s pastoral ministry was chiefly in our Franciscan churches in Ireland. His spiritual depth and kindness brought blessings and comfort to untold numbers over his long decades of service.
