Friar Richard Callanan OFM launched his new book ‘God’s Beauty in Nature’ on Saturday morning in the Franciscan Friary, Clonmel, Co Tipperary. This book is selection of photographs, inspired by St Francis of Assisi. At the launch the Minister Provincial, Friar Hugh McKenna, as well as saying a few very appropriate words about Richard and his ministry, read from the ‘Canticle of Creation’ by St Francis of Assisi.

In the introduction to the book Richard wrote “I always had an eye for the beauty of the created world. Under the influence of St Francis, this love was deepened. It has grown and broadened through the years. St Francis perceived the every-flowing goodness of God in the beautiful things of creation. When I go touring with the camera, I feel peace. God feels present in a special way.”

Friar Richard is pictured here with Friar Nicholas Shanaghan OFM, a member of the Waterford Fraternity, at the signing of his book.
