Irish Franciscan Walter Gallahue was feted at the different celebrations which took place in Harare to mark the Golden Jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood in 1967.
Walter has served as a much-loved missionary in Zimbabwe since 1968.
While he mostly ministered in the rural areas for many decades, in recent years Walter has been parish priest of a large urban parish, Glen Norah, in Harare.
The celebration for him in his parish was also used by the organizers as a fund raiser. With the great increase in the numbers in the parish there is hope of building a new church.
May the Lord bless Fr Walter with joy and great blessings.
