Here is Galway Friary we hosted a Come and See Weekend from the 24th to 26th March. These weekends are an opportunity for people who have expressed an interest in joining our way of life to share some time with us.

A weekend doesn’t answer all an enquirer’s questions, but it allows him space and time to reflect on our life, share in our prayer and meals and talk informally with friars about our life. Please remember to pray for all those who are discerning the vocation to religious life and priesthood at this time.

This weekend, Friars Jacopo and Ronan are leading the group or young adults which meet here in Galway on a pilgrimage from Galway Friary to the ancient Christian site of Clonmacnoise, in preparation for Holy Week and Easter.

The Lenten journey is a spiritual exercise of renewal and the theme of pilgrimage connects our journey with the people of Israel in the Exodus from slavery into freedom. This is a journey which we, as Christians, make with the Lord. And we cannot make with without companionship and fraternity.
