Alessandro Brustenghi (born in Assisi in 21 April 1978), now known as Friar Alessandro, is an Italian Franciscan friar and a singer with an incredible tenor voice. He is also the first friar to land an exclusive record contract with a major record label.

Friar Alessandro’s debut album, Voice from Assisi (2012), made it to number one in the UK Classical Charts and was nominated for a Classic Brit Award. His second album Joy to the World is currently on release.

Watch Alessandro on RTE’s The Saturday Night Show (begins at 21 minutes). Even Brendan O’Connor was moved!
