Dear Friends,

Peace and joy to you all during this Christmas Season.   If you are reading this there is a possibility that you are interested in persuing a vocation to the ‘Franciscan Way’ of life.   It’s at times like this, transition times, and holiday times that people have more time to reflect and to browse.   Maybe you are deliberately checking out this site or perhaps you’ve just hit on it by accident.   Indeed it could be an answer to prayer, the way the Holy Spirit is working in your life right now, prompting you to do something about this ‘vocation thing’ that has been bugging you for some time.   If you haven’t done anything about finding out more, or about contacting a ‘Vocations Director’ then it’s understandable that you are somwhat nervous but please do not be afraid.   Vocations Directors are not out to ‘get you’ they are there to help you discern to do what is best in ‘your’ vocational discernment.

If you are interested in the ‘Franciscan Way’ of life or if you’d just like to know more then please contact me, I’m only an e.mail away at

There will be absolutely no pressure whatsoever on you to join us, my role as the Franciscan ‘Vocations Director’ for the Irish Franciscan Province is to help you discern what is best for you.

If you do contact me I assure you that you will have my full attention during your discernment process.   As well as that you will have numerous opportunities to meet other men who are discerning their Franciscan vocation and also those who are in training to be Franciscans, men like yourself who have recently taken that ‘big step’.   At present we have seven men in training in the Irish Franciscan Province and all from different educational backgrounds and professions.

God is with you.
