The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration to pray and respond together to the cry of Creation: the ecumenical family from all over the world unites to listen and care for our common home.
The "Celebration" begins on September 1, the Feast of Creation, and ends on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations.
Pope Francis' Message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 2024 , on the theme "Hope and act with creation".
The theme is inspired by the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (Rom 8:19-25).
In his Message, Pope Francis invites us to "live an incarnate faith, which knows how to enter into the suffering and hopeful flesh of people; to join forces to help rethink the question of human power; to extend to creation the harmony between humans in responsibility for a human and integral ecology, the way of salvation for our common home".
And with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, to try to live "a life that becomes a song of love for God, for humanity, with and for creation, and which finds its fullness in holiness".
