Dear Friends,

May the Lord give you peace.   As part of my outreach to young people I’ve offered some University and Institute of Technology Chaplains our services for nights of prayer, reflection or mini retreats.   Many students in Third Level Colleges are under a lot of exam pressure etc and a retreat or time of prayer and reflection is an opportunity for them to be quiet, to have space to meditate and reflect, if only for a short period of time.    Times of prayer and reflection, times of retreat give all of us an opportunity  to take stock of our lives, of where we’ve come from and where we are going.   We need this in this fast moving world.   On Ash Wednesday night Friars, Cathal, Liam and I, together with a young lady Teresa Casserly, a member of the Secular Franciscan Order here in Galway Abbey, conducted a mini retreat in the University Chapel of NUI Galway.   It was indeed a great privilege for us to be there and I hope and pray that all present for the mini retreat were blessed in a special way.

If you are a University or Third Level College student anywhere in Ireland who think students in your University or College would benefit from having a time of prayer or a mini-retreat from about 18.30 until 21.30 p.m on a week day night perhaps you might suggest it to your College Chaplain and if he or she wants to get in touch with me

My e.mail address is:           brpatofm@hotmail.com

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Chaplains at NUI Galway, Frs Diarmuid Hogan and Patrick O’Donohue for the invitation to present such a night at NUI Galway.

Blessings to all.

Fraternally,

Pat
