Happy Day: Fr Damian with his parents

Our brother Damian Casey OFM was ordained a priest in Adam and Eve’s Church, Franciscan Friary, Dublin on Saturday 24th April. Archbishop Dermot Farrell officiated at his first ordination when ordaining Damian.

Fr Damian with his fellow friars: Vincent Finnegan, Liam Kelly and David Collins.

The ceremony took place according to the present Covid restrictions with only immediate family and some friars present. However, this did not limit the joyful spirit of the happy event.

Many people throughout the world participated in the celebration online.

Newly ordained, Damian blesses Archbishop Farrell.

Damian is a native of Waterford city and was a school principal before joining the Franciscan Order. He is a member of the Ennis fraternity and has ministered as deacon in the local parish in recent months.

Damian gives his first blessing to his parents.

We pray that Fr Damian’s priestly ministry will bring great blessings to the Lord’s people. Ad multos annos!

Damian with Fr Tom Ryan PP, Ennis.
