Br Damian Casey OFM was ordained a deacon in Adam and Eve’s Dublin by Archbishop Eamon Martin of Armagh on the 8th September, the feast of the Birthday of Our Lady.

In accordance with present restrictions, the celebration took place in the presence of Damian’s immediate family and a small number of friars; however the reduced numbers did not lessen the joy of the occasion.

Damian is a native of Waterford City and was a teacher before joining the Franciscan Order. After his First Profession in Killarney, having completed his novitiate year, Damian studied in Maynooth and Rome. He celebrated his Solemn Profession as a Friar Minor last year.
