PRAYER TO ST PASCHAL BAYLON:

St Paschal was a humble Spanish friar who died in 1592; he had such a great love for Christ in the Eucharist that he was named Patron of all Eucharistic Congresses and Societies. We pray to him for God’s blessing on the International Eucharistic Congress to be held in Dublin in June

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I desire to love you, my Lord, my Light,

my Strength, my Deliverer,

my God and my All.

What have I in heaven, O Lord,

and what do I want besides your love and grace?

You are the God of my heart, you are my portion,

St Paschal, you were filled by the Holy Spirit

with a wondrous love

for the sacred mysteries of Christ’s Body and Blood.

Intercede for us now that we may obtain the grace of

a profound faith and tender devotion

for Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

May we draw from the Eucharist

the same spiritual riches you received with great joy,

and may our lives reveal

the enduring fruit of love, generosity and goodness

to the glory of God our Father.

Official Prayer for the Eucharistic Congress

Lord Jesus,
You were sent by the Father
to gather together those who are scattered.
You came among us, doing good and bringing healing,
announcing the Word of salvation
and giving the Bread which lasts forever.
Be our companion on life’s pilgrim way.
May your Holy Spirit inflame our hearts,
enliven our hope and open our minds,
so that together with our sisters and brothers in faith
we may recognise you in the Scriptures
and in the breaking of bread.
May your Holy Spirit transform us into one body
and lead us to walk humbly on the earth,
in justice and love,
as witnesses of your resurrection.
In communion with Mary,
whom you gave to us as our Mother
at the foot of the cross,
through you
may all praise, honour and blessing be to the Father
in the Holy Spirit and in the Church,
Now and forever.
