The present Friary (Francis Street) was acquired in 1824, and the new church opened in 1856. Ennis was the Provincial Novitiate House from 1877 to 1902. It is at present the Novitiate House of the Irish and English Provinces. The site of the original foundation, Ennis Abbey, about 1284, is just around the corner on Abbey Street. Read More…
