Dear Friends,

May the Lord give you peace!   Are you aware of the many times you say ‘Yes to God’ each day?   When you give time to your family or friends, when you respond to those in need, when you take care of created things and the enviroment, when you celebrate Eucharist with your brothers and sisters and when you pray.   These are just some of the ways you or I say ‘Yes to God’.  each day.    Even when it might appear as if we are just ‘looking’ then we may be saying our ‘Yes to God’.

St. Francis of Assisi is a great example of one who said ‘Yes to God’.   He said ‘Yes’ by his response to significant dreams in his life, also when he got off his horse and kissed the leper an event that led him to overcome his hatred for lepers in that part of Italy where he lived.   When Francis responded to the Gospel text:  “Go preach that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” he did so by giving himself totally to God.

Perhaps this ‘blog’ is just what you need in leading you to say another ‘Yes’ to God as you continue on your discernment journey.    Last Monday three men who having completed their one year postulancy programme for the ‘Franciscan Way of Life’ in Killarney Friary entered our novitiate programme in Ennis taking another step in their ‘Yes’ to God.  Please pray for Vincent, Adrain and Dave as they continue to live their Christian vocation in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi.

Many, many blessings.
