The Lord is wonderful on high, alleluia.
Psalm 92(93)
|
The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed; † the Lord has robed himself with might,* he has girded himself with power.
The world you made firm, not to be moved;† your throne has stood firm from of old.* From all eternity, 0 Lord, you are.
The waters have lifted up, 0 Lord,† the waters have lifted up their voice,* the waters have lifted up their thunder.
Greater than the roar of mighty waters,† more glorious than the surgings of the sea,* the Lord is glorious on high.
Truly your decrees are to be trusted.† Holiness is fitting to your house,* 0 Lord, until the end of time.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Ant. 2: |
May you be praised, Lord, and extolled for ever, alleluia.
Psalm 111 (112)
|
What about those people who trust in God and are committed to His will and purposes?
They are people who are rich indeed. Even amid the circumstances of poverty, the wealth and blessings of God are within their reach.
They are people with purpose and meaning in their lives. Even amid the disorder and void of this temporal existence, they are aware of God’s concern and love for them. They are people who walk unafraid.
The threats of violence or prophecies of doom do not detract from their validity nor alter their course.
They are people who relate to those around them. They identify with others in their sorrows and complaints and share with them their lives and gifts.
They are people who are truly happy and through whom our God works His purposes in this world today.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Praise the Lord from the heavens, alleluia.†
Psalm 148
|
Praise the Lord from the heavens, * praise him in the heights. Praise him, all his angels,* praise him, all his hosts.
Praise him, sun and moon,* praise him, shining stars. Praise him, highest heavens * and the waters above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the Lord.* He commanded: they were made. He fixed them forever,* gave a law which shall not pass away.
Praise the Lord from the earth,* sea creatures and all Oceans, fire and hail, snow and mist,* stormy winds that obey his word;
all mountains and hills,* all fruit trees and cedars, beasts, wild and tame,* reptiles and birds on the wing;
all earth’s kings and peoples,* earth’s princes and rulers; young men and maidens,* old men together with children.
Let them praise the name of the Lord * for he alone is exalted. The splendour of his name * reaches beyond heaven and earth.
He exalts the strength of his people.* He is the praise of all his saints, of the sons of Israel,* of the people to whom he comes close.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING
A Reading from the Prophet Ezekiel (37:12b-14)
The Lord God says this: I am now going to open your graves; I mean to raise you from your graves, my people, and lead you back to the soil of Israel. And you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and raise you from your graves, my people. And I shall put my spirit in you, and you will live, and I shall resettle you on your own soil; and you will know that I, the Lord, have said and done this it is the Lord God who speaks.
The Word of the Lord
SHORT RESPONSORY
R\ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Have mercy on us. R\ You are seated at the right hand of the Father. R\ Glory be. R\
Benedictus antiphon : Lord if it is you, bid me come to you over the water
Blessed are you, the Most High God of Israel for you have visited and redeemed your people. You have raised up a mighty Saviour for us of the house of – David, as you promised through the mouths of your holy ones, the prophets of ancient times.
Salvation from our enemies and from the hands of all our foes. You have shown mercy to our ancestors by remembering the holy Covenant you made with them.
The oath you swore to Sarah and Abraham, Granting, that we, delivered from the hands of our enemies, might serve you without fear, in holiness and justice in your presence all our days.
And you, my child, will be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before our God to prepare the way for the Promised One, giving the people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins.
Such is the tender mercy of our God, who from on high will bring the Rising Sun to visit us, in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
Benedictus antiphon : Lord if it is you, bid me come to you over the water
