May the Lord give you peace! In Christus Vivit an Apostolic Exhortation to Young People and to the Entire People of God from Pope Francis in 2019 the Pope has a section on ‘Young Saints’ 49 through 63: In it the Pope wrote “Their example shows what the young are capable of, when they open themselves up to encounter Christ.” One of the Saints he refers to is “Saint Francis of Assisi, while very young and full of great dreams, heard Jesus’ call to become poor like him and to rebuild the Church by his witness. He joyfully renounced everything he had and is now the saint of universal fraternity, the brother of all. He praised the Lord for his creatures.” 52 page 24
This Apostolic Exhortation is for all of us but particularly for young people striving to know Jesus and to live a better Christian Life. I encourage you to read it. For those of you who might be interested in following Jesus in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi who died in 1226 I invite you to contact me, where you will have an opportunity to ask questions about the Franciscan Way of Life and to meet other young men who have chosen the Franciscan path.
