Provincial Chapter of the Franciscan Province of Ireland

 Newly elected leadership: Caoimhín Ó Laoide, Liam Kelly, David Collins (Provincial Minister), Stephen O'Kane (Vicar Provincial), Niall O'Connell and Antony Jukes.

In this the Jubilee Year of St Francis, 46 friars gathered for their Provincial Chapter in Dromantine Retreat Centre, Newry (5-10 July) to pray, discuss, plan for the future, and elect their Provincial Minister, Vicar and Definitory.

Fr David Collins was chosen as the Provincial Minister for the next six years. Born in Cork city in 1976, he joined the friars in 2007, celebrated his First Profession of Vows in 2009 and was ordained a priest in May 2014. Since then he has ministered in Killarney, Galway, Ennis and Dublin.
